More on this blog about the planned nuclear bin in the Northeast of France and the resistance against it, in the Lejuc forest and elsewhere:
Unprecedented Nine activists are being imprisoned pending trial fallowing Monday road clearing to open the heart of the forest to RWE’s lignite extraction. Three of the comrades are in Aachen, and six in Cologne Ossendorf having been declared to be a flight risk for remaining anonymous.
With the reluctance and the inability of the North Rhine Westphalia and German national governments to cut its dependence on coal the crossectional Forest and Climate struggles have gained considerably in diversity and strenght making the following possible: more…
Arrived at 8.00 in the forest. When I wanted to go to tripod (Jesuspoint) towards Gaul, 3 policemen (presumably SWAT Hambach) arrived. They made derogatory and offensive remarks to the activists. When I arrived in Gaul, I met several local citizens and supporters. In Gaul, there were about 14 police officers from the evidence preservation units, they took pictures and videos(those are later used to prepare treehouse evictions and other large scale actions). more…
22:00 There have been “only” ten activists in police custody in Aachen (* NOT counting from the tunnel person who was taken to a hospital). One activist is already free again, nine have tomorrow morning at ten o’clock a judicial performance demonstration.
20:30 The person from the tunnel system is probably now released from the tunnel and was placed in an ambulance.
18:46 It looks like humans are still being evicted in the underground Lockon today. About 30 emergency services (police, mine rescue, fire brigade) try to find a way to clear the hole.
17:49 Police abandon the mission in the forest for today. Tripod and Monopod at Jesus Point are still standing and still occupied! The human being in the lock on under the earth is still there. Police announce to stay at the hole, but otherwise leave the forest.
18:42 finally it seams like they are still going to get the person out of the hole today. Police, fire workers and special technical forces are there. more…
An anti-speceist week will take place in Hambi in March! You are all welcome to join for a series of workshops and talks that will be themed on animal exploitation, human/animal relationship and (criticism of) veganism.
Speceism is an oppressive mechanism just like racism and sexism. Some activists from the Hambacher Forest would like to underline that our fight against the existing power structures doesn’t limit itself to human beings, but that it also concerns other living beings.
We will soon update you with a more detailed program!
Let us know by email if you want to give a workshop (firstname.lastname@example.org).
A part of the week will revolve around action training. We would like to organise together a day of action, to put our theory into practice. Indeed, our aim is not only to raise awareness about the constructed normality of animal exploitation, but also to play a role in the destruction of this power structure.
We look forward to fruitful discussions 🙂
Against the airport
and its world!
The French government has abandoned the construction of the disputed major airport near Nantes, which had been under discussion for 50 years. The Prime Minister said that if there was such a strong opposition in a region, that literally divided the local population in half, such a project could not be carried out without confrontation (taz).
In other words, farmers, militants and environmentalists have prevented the project. They transformed a “differed development zone” (ZAD = Zone d’Aménagement Différé) to a zone to defend (Zone à défendre) and the people who had settled on the 1600 ha site, call themselves Zadistes.
Our congratulations to all, who made this possible.
The Prime Minister still said something else: “Anyone who is currently illegally occupying land in Notre-Dame-des-Landes must vacate it by spring at the latest.” It may be that the Zadistes will wait to see if this decision really will be implemented. If so, then it might be that more French will be spoken soon on the edge of the Hambach hole.

- What is the Skillsharing Camp in the Hambach Forest?
- When will the Skillshare take place?
- What does it cost?
- Should I bring something?
- Will there be civil disobedience?
- What if I have to go to school or work during that period?
- But I really can not come!
Soon it will be time again, the Skillsharing Camp in the Hambach Forest, our probably biggest event, is imminent. This year it will be from march 26th until april 08th. Thus it will take place during the Easter holidays of the vast majority of German federal states and in many other European countries. Because also students should have the chance to come (and if you have the misfortune to go to school where the holidays are different, e.g. in Hamburg, you still can skive off¹) 😉
The same applies to the semester break, so for university students.
As always, there will be a lot of workshops and some concerts. If you want to offer a workshop or an artistic contribution yourself, please write to
