Memorial for Waka, Şehîd Şahîn Qereçox

On Monday 15th October at 5pm, the forest will hold a ceremony to celebrate and remember Waka, our friend and comrade martyred last week in the revolutionary struggle in Kurdistan. We will meet at Jesus Point (in the forest) and then move to a different spot to have the memorial.

People can write messages to Waka to share with the group, to burn in the fire, or to do with whatever you choose. If you want to join in with this, please bring some paper and pens. Bring anything you wish to contribute to the ceremony. Waka had a talent for creating ceremonies to bring people together and we hope to do the same in memory of them. All are welcome. REST IN POWER WAKA.

  1. This fragile Earth will struggle even more without the strength, skill, love and compassion of such an amazing person.
We owe you a huge debt of gratitude for all that you did and all that you stood for Waka. #RIPWaka #PontValley #Hambacher #ecojustice

  2. Heval Zagros

I served in the YPG and lived with Sehin for a brief period, he was a lovely guy, well able to speak his mind when others thought differently. He had a great sense of humour, was a very genuine guy, very sincere Revolutionary and was determined to play his part in the kurdish internationalist struggle.

Fear crógha, lán le misneach. Coladh samh mo chara.
