From July 20th until 26th 2015, there will be a colorful and creative protest on the meadow occupation against lignite mining in the Hambach forest.
If you like creative things as painting, music, clowning, building huts and barricades, gardening in a community, self-organized performances, yoga, circus or other artistic exchange, then you’re on a right place here.
The (german) flyer for the Forest Festival is ready and lots of programme is fixed!
Translation of the flyer’s flipside:
Come to the Forest Festival in the Hambach Forest!
Spring is coming up and the Forest Occupation(s) celebrate their third birthday. So please feel invited to the Forest Festival at this occasion!
On Saturday (4th April) members of the band “Kellerasseln” will read from their book “Topf & Söhne – Besetzung auf einem Täterort” (dt. “Topf & Sons – occupation in the perpetrator’s site”) (see below).
Afterwards the Kellerasseln and other acts will play plugged livemusic. Then on Sunday (5th April) beginning at 2 pm we’ll have an unplugged acoustic concert with singers/songwriters ending with an open jam session, in which everyone will be invited to join in.
Food and beverage are taken care for.
Come to the forest, and dance into a new world!
The occupations in and around the Hambach Forest are directed against the clearcut of the forest and the brown coal extraction causing it.

The poster says:
“Public enemy No1
Wanted are free-range compost toilets
which wantonly squat the Hambach Forest.
Complete or in component parts
to be delivered to RWE”.
A close-to one hour interview about the Hambach Forestand the protest against brown coal/lignite in the Rhineland has been recorded and aired in the United States last Sunday. The interview gives basic informations about the protest as well as current stuff – for example the raid and the eviction of the forest occupation in late March.
The anarchist radio program “The Final Straw” from Asheville/North Carolina has quite a large recognition in the “scene” and covers local and international protests and movements every Sunday.
