FRACKANPADA an international Anti-Fracking Camp, 13-19 July 2015 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque country

This summer European anti-fracking movements are mobilising for action against fracking in Basque Country – close to the Spanish-French border, 500 km west of Barcelona. Anti-fracking collectives from several countries are calling on activists from across Europe to gather near Gasteiz-Vitoria for a week-long Frackanpada camp with actions and skill-sharing to organise our struggles in defense of the land, for social justice and for a sustainable society as well as developing our resistance against fossil fuel extraction and the underlying system of corporate profit and state evictions and repression.

The camp will bring together the people involved in the struggle against fracking from all corners of Europe, to share experiences and exchange skills; to put into practice participatory ways of social organising and visions of just alternatives; and to take action to expose and halt the practice of fracking. There will be a wide range of activities for everyone, from workshops and talks to films, activities for children and skill-shares. We want to learn about fracking, and share skills for resisting this industry from groups all over Europe and further afield, we also want to connect this struggle to other struggles against climate change, fossil fuel extraction, social injustice and other threats that our communities face. An open call for the camp’s programme is online and inviting proposals.

The location of the camp has strong symbolic meaning as a spot with plans for fracking. The camp is right next to a former drilling site which they want to expand for shale gas extraction. Frackanpada has the support from inhabitants of the nearby village, that allowed us to camp on their land. Local activists are clear that now is the time to re-escalate action in the region “The more numerous we are, the more it will cost them”.

Only together we can stop and resist their plans. It’s time to stop their nonsense. It’s time for action! No fracking here nor anywhere!

There will be a carpool. Send a mail to hfb-carpool _ riseup.net if you have a car and/or want to join!

Hey folks, the Winter is approaching it’s end ans a new spring with actions in and around the Hambach Forest is coming up. In the Forest Festival on 4th and 5th April 2015 we will celebrate three years of forest- and meadow occupations, and subsequently there will be another Skillsharing Camp from 6th until 12th April 2015.
We still have loads of flyers, placards, stickers and texts, which are waiting for a space in your infoshops and projects and would like to be distributed. If you want to have any material sent to you, send us an e-mail with the subject “infostuff” to hambacherforst@nullriseup.net. (Notice the German spelling!)

Skillsharing Camp April

Let’s go to the Skillsharing Camp in the forest of Hambach April 6 – 12, 2015 / Germany-Cologne
Spring’s coming and the forest will wake from its slumber and the first greenery will be stretching towards the sun. The birds arrive and yet again forest of several kilometres of length and 200 metres of width has been destroyed. The “No tree will fall” campain, the wintertime and the seasonal deforestation are coming to a close. There were blockades, occupations, discussions, vigils, trials and detentions. By appearing in public and in the media and going into debate we have brought our rejection of technologies that are hostile to life, like gaining electricity from coal, into the open. Because it’s no use to hope for a different world, you must fight for it. More infos

Solidarity worldwide!

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5600/15475680061_3016fd0ab9_b.jpgToday we’re sending messages of solidarity to the blockade at the SUNCOR refinery in Montreal, Quebec that took place yesterday, to the Banc Expropiat squat under threat of eviction in Barcelona, Spain, and to the resistance against the gold mine in Skouries, Greece.

Early on October 7, four women blockaded the SUNCOR refinery Montreal using tripod and lock-on techniques. This was to protest the reversal of Enbridge’s Line 9B oil pipeline, which will be bringing Tar Sands oil from Alberta through Montreal for export. more…

Call Out for Reoccupation of the Hambach Forest on April 26th 2014

After the eviction of the third occupation in the Hambach Forest near Köln, which took place on March 27th after existing almost 7 months, one thing is sure:

Occupation Number 4!

Wiederbesetzung

We had to suffer massive repression, especially this time: the raid on the meadow occupation and two other projects, confiscation of all our electronic devices, hand-written journals as well as private stuff. This proves one thing: Our direct protest against the exploitation and the destruction of nature by RWE is effective. We will show that we’re not afraid and we will not give up!

As announced before, there will be a Re-Occupation at Day X+4 (the saturday 4 weeks after the eviction).

And:
The 26th of April isn’t just a day like another.
This very day exactly 28 years ago the nuclear catastrophe in Chernobyl took place. We cannot seperate the struggles against Coal and Nuclear Power. It’s not enough to shut down nuclear power plants and substitute this by burning coal; as well as it’s not acceptable to stop mining and burning coal for the creation of nuclear energy.
It’s a common resistance against the destruction of nature and the idea of ongoing growth in disregard of the results.

It’s a criticism of capitalist thinking, which just divides in resources and capital.
We cannot wait until the next big catastrophe opens the eyes of people.

Something has to change NOW!

So we will re-occupy the Hambach Forest on April the 26th, massively and determined!

On this day, a demonstration will start at 2 pm at the train station in Buir.

If you are motivated to take part in the organization, you can visit the “Build Resistance Skill Sharing Camp”, which takes place from April 12th to 25th on the occupied meadow. There an open organization meeting for the day of the Re-occupation is going to take place: on Sunday, 13th April, at 12am.

You can participate as individuals or affinity groups in many different ways:
Spread the word, help with the organization, occupy the trees or support on the ground.
Your solidarity is stronger than all repression!

For more information write to hambacherforst@nullriseup.net, or follow our blog: hambacherforst.blogsport.de.

Together, we stop RWE and the open cast pit!
Respect Existence or Expect Resistance!

See you on April 26th!

You can find flyers and posters for self-print hier.

„Build Resistance“ Skill-Sharing Camp

Build Resistance

english deutsch espanol

This April there will be a skill sharing for two weeks on the occupation of the Hambacher Forst/ Hambach Forest. We want to let grow a big diversity of different theoretical and practical workshops, discussions, presentations, actions and so on. Everybody is invited to participate, to bring in own ideas, to share some skills, to offer workshops, to present something or to express her_his displeasure about the destruction of nature and oppression in creative way.

The camp has a emancipatory demand. It shall give us the possibility to share experiences, to connect, to learn together and also from each other and hopefully to come a step closer to a world without dominance: A world in which we take the responsibility for ourselves and our behavior and actions, in which we don’t take orders nobody and in which we can’t command nobody neither, a world in which we live together without any kind of discrimination, in free agreements and mutual aid, trying to self-organize and self-subsist ourselves.

There are already some workshops planned, such as: insulation of walls with adobe, knitting masks, collect wild-growing herbage and different forms of action, for example: samba, action climbing, building tripods, …

If possible please take with you a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad and wind- and rain-proofed clothes because we have only a limited number of sleeping places. Also it would be nice, if you could contribute with some food (maybe go dumpster-diving some days before). But this is not a must!

See you in April!

Love, solidarity and anarchy!!!
