While people from the lignite resistance set red lines along the former motorway A4 (upper red line) to prevent RWE from clearing the forest south of it, the company sets its own red lines.

Actually, they are cutting counter-clockwise from east to west, starting at the eastern Secu Bridge (former motorway exit). Probably mid-December, these deforestations are likely to be done. Then they could go on south of the former A4, starting from the west. The already marked forest section covers the area on which the tree protection pictures hang, about 300 by 300 meters (see http://hambacherforst.blogsport.de/2016/02/04/bilder-zur-kunstaktion-im-hambacher-forst-am-mittwoch-den-322016/ <!–and
http://hambacherforst.blogsport.de/2016/03/04/nachtrag-zur-sinnlosen-zerstoerungsaktion-von-rwe-am-montag/–>) (starting at the western barrier, which sometimes blocks the path to the former western bridge), then the line leads in mostly about 100 meters, at the end only 30 meters distance to the former A4 from west to east. About 15 hectares of forest would fall victim to these plans if implemented (and if the forecast is correct – no guarantee!) Pictures (25, from east to west) follow below: more…
We invite you to an open discussion on general strategies for the current deforestation season and the future of the struggle against the destruction of Hambach Forest.
An open space is to be created for ideas, opinions, analyses and concerns. We want to create a platform for the cooperation and communication that our movement needs to be successful. There will be a warm meal and tea. Please bring your own cup and the appropriate clothing (solid footwear etc).
Place: Meadow camp behind the airfield of Morschenich / Date: Saturday 11/19/2016, 4:00 p.m.
Today about 200 cops were in the forest with a water-cannon, an eviction-tank and a bomb squad. In the morning a barricade had been set up on the main access route of security- and deforestation staff. This used to be the exit Buir of the former Motorway A4.
According to the media, police trying to evict the burning barricade were attacked with stones. Besides that a spooky gas cylinder with some wires was tested by a special robot on whether it’s a bomb.

11/03/2016 Hambach Forest / Aquarium Although the clearing work started a few weeks ago, it was hardly as present as it is today. This is probably due to the fact that the sound of the machines is now closer to my ear. I estimate that today the central reservation of the former motorway is equalized at the height of Beechtown. more…
Last week (Wednesday and Thursday) first clearing of this winter took place, also near the Beechtown occupation, but now for the first time this season on both sides of the motorway, not even a stone throw away from the first barricade. With heavy machinery, first aisles were driven into the forest, undergrowth was removed, and some trees were felled, as you can seen in these pictures. (Click to enlarge)

Morschenich: In the Hambach Forest, which is occupied by environmental activists, actually trees are harvested under the protection of the police. Every year, the coal and nuclear group RWE carries out deforesting work in order to realize the expansion of the open-cast lignite mine of Hambach.
The Hambach Forest has been known since April 2012 because of the occupation of trees by nature conservationists. Again and again, there are actions that interfere with the smooth operation of the three large opencast lignite mining projects in Rhenania. An initiative from a wide range of groups and individuals has been committed to the preservation of the Hambach Forest for years and to an immediate exit from coal power.
“The further destruction of the Hambach forest, in favour of the expansion of the opencast mining, is like the last convulsions of a dying RWE group that has ignored structural change for almost 20 years”, tree occupant Tim Wiese says.
