Reportback today at 7pm(Gallien) ZAD: Thousands of Cops held back by thousand Zadists

WE AT HAMBACHER FOREST WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXTEND THE INTERGALACTIC CALL FOR SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY!!! : JOIN THE STRUGGLE FOR THE ZAD, ORGANIZE SOLIDARITY EVENTS AND ACTIONS AT YOU LOCATIONS.  ZAD TODAY US TOMORROW!!!

Report-back from the ultra-liberal warfare zone of the Macron regime, today at 7PM in the Hambacher Forest, in Gallien Forest Occupation.  We will show photos, videos and discuss the situation in the Zone.

The intensity of struggle in the ZAD continued through out the whole week.  As Zadists have been instantly cleaning the fields of the police teargas projectiles even as the fighting continues it has been estimated that the French National Gendarmerie has used approximately 2 tons of CS rockets, projectiles, grenades, concussion grenades and rubber bullets. None of this has deterred Zadists too much, quite to the contrary as often applause rings out after particularly harsh police barrages of tear gas, concussion grenades and large 40 caliber rubber bullets.  Right behind each barricade there is allays at least one station preparing Molotov cocktails and filling jars and other containers with paint, while right at the edge of the front-line often in drifting tear gas large collective kitchen, medic field stations and massage continues to be dispensed.

Macrons statement that expulsions will be stopped was an attempt to redirect media attention, the same statement also carried ominous promise that “the rule of the law will be maintained in the ZAD” and that the large contingent of police will stay in the Zone for 2 months.  It is 2 months then when pitch battles and serious injuries can be expected every day with the exception of Sunday perhaps and perhaps not even that.  In order to maintain the Zad and many of its barricades with gates, towers and piled high cars support from the outside is needed.

ZAD RESISTE!!

Second Day of ZAD under Police Attack

For the second day ZAD NDDL came under police attack this Tuesday.  Beginning at 5am over 2000 of cops with at least two tanks started trying to breach the barricades on the West End of the Zad.  Yet with the whole day of massive amounts of tear gas and flash bangs being used the day was mostly stellmate as cops stood in one place holding people back as the equipment cleared out 4 locations: No Name, Chèvrerie, Port and Tower that were already overrun by the cops on Monday as they finished destroying the structures and taking out the remnants of structures destroyed Monday. more…

Reflection and Call for Action Following Skill-Shares Camp

This weekend on Saturday and Sunday another successful Skill-share Camp concluded with full days of workshops and on a lighter note concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Both of the last 2 days also were full of political discourse, DiY, Media workshops and numerous activities such a piercing and tatoo workshops. The Meadow and the Forest filled with circles of groups sitting on the ground, walking through out the forest occupation, learning climbing and many other skills, all of this to a beautiful background sounds of birds serenading, sharing their happiness of first warm and sunny weather of this spring. Birds and other organisms that in a year or two will be deprived of their habitat like many of those living in the forest after the sure to come evictions. Like birds the forest activists continue to build a new and rebuild after the storms of repression and after the waves RWE Social and Climate Chaos. Continuing to expand and rebuild knowing very well that that all our and our animal comrades’ habitats are shrinking and that after 2018-20 cutting season the whole ancient Hambacher Forest will seize to exist. That’s why a call goes out to all who attended the Skill-shares and to others who are not at Hambi that in case of Forest Evictions if you are not able to come and help rebuild and re-occupy please consider doing a banner action in front of your local coal power station if there is one close by or by RWE offices which there should be one, or a German consulate or embassy if you are outside of KohleAusstieg(Coal Exit) Land. Let’s point out the price of Climate and Ecological destruction is not just destroying the Planet and habitats but also communities and cultural and protest spaces such as Hambacher Forest Occupation. That is the true price of Carbon and Coal, so please help us bring that message home and deal with numerous disconnects on which Climate Disaster Capitalism is based.

Saturday also ended on a more playfull twist: a Quiz Show on Radical People’s history with prizes took place. In case you have not been there here are some of the questions that were asked to test your knowledge of our collective past: (with answers on the bottom of this article):
1.What revolution took place in 1918.
2.What happened during Shah’s visit to Berin?
3.Which revolution was named after a flower. With extra point for the year it took place.
4.List 3 ways of blockading a road. With extra point if anybody in the quiz group was arrested for using that method.
5. What tropical plant was the revolution in Bougaville named after with a documentary of that same time.

On Sunday the final “workshop” was a day long session dealing with the realities of cleaning up the theory and praxis aftermath of the skillshares in the Meadow, aka[d1]: “Meadow Clean Up Workshop”.

Selected quiz answers.
1. German Sailors rebell after the end of WWI and form workers councils inspired by the Bolshevik revolution. The revolution was know as November Revolution, Kiel Revolt, or also by their participant name of Red Sailors.
2. During the Shahs visit to Berlin a West German policeman Karl-Heinz Kurras shot the student Benno Ohnesormore sparking the beginning of student radicalization, resulting also in formation of RAF. Interesting sidenote: once STASI archives were opened it turned out that Kurras was a paid East German spy. It is not possible to say if him shooting Benno was an intentional attempt to radicalize the West German student movement, however without doubt the resulting political polarization benefited the East German State greatly, even though most students in the West were inspired more by Maoist example than by the existing models of Socialism in the Eastern Bloc.
3 . Carnation Revolution took place in Portugal on 25 April 1974. Initiated by a non-violent military coup it overthrew the authoritarian regime of the Estado Novo, and was overtaken by civil resistance and protest to the fallen dictatorship. Also known as Revoluo dos Cravos.
4.This is an open list as there is multiplicity of methods, and anything that is effective counts just as it counts whther it was and it is possible to put this theory into practice
5. Coconut Revolution. Named as the Bougaville rebels utilized the plant for food, fiber, oil and even fuel.

District Government Arnsberg approves deforestation from October on

Not surprising and yet deeply distressing? The district government of Arnsberg approves the main operating plan 2018-2020 and thus the further deforestation of the Hambach Forest from October 2018 on.

Here you can read the press release of the he district government in German: https://www.bezreg-arnsberg.nrw.de/presse/2018/03/063_18_03_29/index.php

What does this mean for us? It’s just another proof that jurisdiction has nothing to do with justice. That profit interests prevail over environmental and human rights. And that coal exit remains manual work.

The attempts to criminalise and isolate our protest are more obvious than ever: Never have so many active people been in prison for so little offence. At the same time, they try to describe things as if the violence came from our side, and we were to blame if the police felt compelled to evict the occupations and to destroy the forest because of danger ahead. It is more necessary than ever to counteract this. Let’s start preparing for the upcoming clearing season. It’s time to found local groups, to organise, or to take another semester off, to quit your job or drop out of school, and to plan a deforesting season in the Hambi.

Because for a climate of justice we have to fight ourselves.

Weapons of Mass Communication!!!

Confiscated by Düren Cops held for over a year.

There have been 3 police raids on the Meadow Camp in Hambacher Forest over last several years. During those raids the police would enter the location of our support “eco village” camp located on private property with search warrants listing as reasons either searches for weapons or even explosives. The resulting confiscations however focused exclusively on electronic devices, that is the “Weapons of Mass Communication”. Commandeering tools and outlets for press work, documentation, photography of police behavior and brutality and legal documentation. This has been done days before even larger police actions. In effect silencing us electronically and leaving us not able to communicate to the outside world about what was taking place with limited documentation of police antics and no way to present conflicting evidence to the State’s so often trumped up accusations used to imprison our comrades for months without trial. With three of our comrades, Hambi3(#freehambi3), presently in prison. more…

SOLIDARITY TO HAMBI & THE RESISTANCE FROM PONT VALLEY OCCUPATION

Stormy Clouds Sunset over Pont Valley Protection Camp

Lots of warm solidarity and support from Pont Valley Protection Camp to all defending Hambacher Forest and full spectrum of their supporters following evictions of barricades this time by the police and imprisonment of now 2 additional Climate Justice Political Prisoners together with UP2(kept for past 2 month in isolation with “evidence” being kept from the defense) making now the #freeHambi3. The disaster martial law capitalism steps up its bullshit this time instead of after communists and labour activists going for environmental, climate and direct action activists first as Rheine Energy CEO/Police Chief, Herbert Reul and his fossil fools disaster capilast New Frei Corps of North Rhine Westphalia Interior ministry police sweeps up the opposition. As climate disaster deepens, ecosystems collapse accelerates, nuclear proliferation and militarization is an accepted by the masses fucked up reality while militant resistance is delegitimized, criminalized and appropriated for media green-scare campaigns. Firecrackers and pocket knives become dangerous weapons as politically cynical capitalist conspiracy of repression continues its campaign of divide and conquer by pushing community and civil initiatives to be further and further apart from radical part of the movement. Through fear and reformists empty promises of change forcing some to engage in follow ups of repressions with external retraumatizing critiques. more…

Pont Valley Protection Camp: Possible Eviction Alert

There is very high possibility of attempts to evict the The Pont Valley Protection Camp this week which like other Fracking Site protests, blockades and autonomous land occupations in England is facing the use of the Common Law Eviction, also known as “Owners Right to Self-Help” allowing the corporations involved and the property owners leasing to them to employ Bailiffs and private security to evict activists without court proceedings or much of a warning. This is done by showing up at the site issuing a warning and then after couple hours proceeding to remove the occupiers. In this type of eviction the Police does not get involved and does not assist and no arrests are made as long as bailiffs are not physically fought. That is why legal observers and videographers are important on the scene. Also neither bailiffs nor security is trained or insured for lock-on, tripod,or tree removal. They also count on low numbers of resistors as if there is more people it is possible to resist their removal from the Site.

So please spread the word if you can not show up and support the Pont Valley struggle in person. If you can, pack your backpack and head over to the camp located outside of Dipton, near Newcastle.
