This week the 2nd Hambi spring-clean will take place!
On March 22, 2019, we meet at the gravel pit at 10:00 o’clock, equip ourselves with garbage bags, garbage tongs and gloves to clean the forest from the garbage. At 3:00 pm the garbage will be picked up. Collecting point is on the L276 at the parking lot next to the slip-road to the ancient motorway A4. more…
During the last few days there has been massive excitement over trees, allegedly felled by activists. This was mainly spread by the police in Aachen and the media of the Axel Springer publishing house. But there are also some newspapers that seem to attach importance to serious journalism. The newspaper neues Deutschland researched once more. Here we quote an excerpt of an article that reflects well the whole situation:
“… An occupant said to the »nd«: »These are dead spruces of bark beetle-infested monocultures that were planted in the forest for forestry purposes«. She said that RWE does nothing about bark beetles. »It’s not us who fell our forest. The bark beetles harm these monocultures (…)« Some spruce monocultures have already died from doing nothing. The occupants call a part of it Zombie Forest, because there are only dead trees that regularly just tip over and get stuck in each others. There a reforestation with more native trees could improve the forest.
If you look at the pictures of the police again, you will notice that the felled trees really stood between closely planted spruce trees and not in the old forest of hornbeams and pedunculate oak trees. From an ecological point of view, there should be little talk against the fellings by the forest occupants…” more…
Soon it is time again, from April 12th to 24th is again Skillsharing Camp in Hambach Forest. After the last Skillshare was unfortunately not so great because of the external circumstances (comment of the then Orga: “We would better have canceled it than performing it at any price and making lame compromises with the Manheim Camp.”), this time it’s going to be a real Hambi-Skillshare as we know and love it. So forget boring life for two weeks, with main content like school, college or wage work and come over for fun, learning and networking.
In the afternoon of Friday, march 15th, Eule was released from the prison in Cologne-Ossendorf.
The district court of Cologne overturned her arrest warrant in the course of a complaint. According to the competent judge at the district court, an almost 6-month detention was no longer proportionate. For Eule, the lifting of the arrest warrant is not subject to any conditions. more…

On september 26th 2018, during evictions in Hambach forest (NRW, Germany), activist Eule was violently evicted from a hammock, pressed on the ground by several cops and got hands and feet tied. When the cops stood up, Eule allegedly tried to kick a standing cop in the face and missed them. Eule, with injuries themselves, was arrested denying ID and has been in pre-jail ever since with the accusations of “assaulting an officer” and “attempted dangerous assault”.
During the public trials on February 4th and 18th of 2019, all nine cops testimonies contradicted each other, and despite Eule’s lawyer questioning the lawfulness of the eviction and the reasoning for evicting a single hammock, judge Peter Königsfeld convicted Eule to 9 months of youth custody without probation.
We are outraged by the fact that even without a consistent story, another political verdict was spoken against political activists, This is against all of us!
So come on Sunday, the 17th of March, at 17o’clock in front of the JVA Köln-Ossendorf and let Eule hear your solidarity!

A bit late, we found this article on Indymedia:
On Sunday, February 24th, 2019, a solidarity demo for imprisoned Hambi activist Eule (“Owl”) took place in front of the prison (JVA) Cologne-Ossendorf. A large group of people in owl and fox masks loudly protested the sentence to 9 months of custody. We hope for continuing demos and antirepression for Eule. Below this article, you find three cool self-made stencils that can be printed out and cut out of plastic or cardboard and used by all!

The forest is occupied!
We, activists from the Hambach Forest, have occupied the Eppenberg Forest since 02/15/2019. On an area of about 40 hectares, this is to be cut down for an industrial area. This, although there are already such areas with large unsold lots in the immediate vicinity.
