Another Info-session about the Hambach Forest in the US

On Friday, 11th of April 2014, a very well attended Infosession in Chapel Hill/NC (US) took place.

Internationalist Books Chapel Hill

At the “Internationalist Books & Community Center” some two dozen people mingled and besides the Info-session a Q&A did happen concerning the current situation of the movement in the Rhineland – which did lead to more than 3 hours of information, exchange, discussions and questions.

We are so freakin’ pleased about this networking and sympathy and we send greetings of solidarity and love to all our comrades and friends everywhere out there – and today especially to Chapel Hill!

Call Out for Reoccupation of the Hambach Forest on April 26th 2014

After the eviction of the third occupation in the Hambach Forest near Köln, which took place on March 27th after existing almost 7 months, one thing is sure:

Occupation Number 4!

Wiederbesetzung

We had to suffer massive repression, especially this time: the raid on the meadow occupation and two other projects, confiscation of all our electronic devices, hand-written journals as well as private stuff. This proves one thing: Our direct protest against the exploitation and the destruction of nature by RWE is effective. We will show that we’re not afraid and we will not give up!

As announced before, there will be a Re-Occupation at Day X+4 (the saturday 4 weeks after the eviction).

And:
The 26th of April isn’t just a day like another.
This very day exactly 28 years ago the nuclear catastrophe in Chernobyl took place. We cannot seperate the struggles against Coal and Nuclear Power. It’s not enough to shut down nuclear power plants and substitute this by burning coal; as well as it’s not acceptable to stop mining and burning coal for the creation of nuclear energy.
It’s a common resistance against the destruction of nature and the idea of ongoing growth in disregard of the results.

It’s a criticism of capitalist thinking, which just divides in resources and capital.
We cannot wait until the next big catastrophe opens the eyes of people.

Something has to change NOW!

So we will re-occupy the Hambach Forest on April the 26th, massively and determined!

On this day, a demonstration will start at 2 pm at the train station in Buir.

If you are motivated to take part in the organization, you can visit the “Build Resistance Skill Sharing Camp”, which takes place from April 12th to 25th on the occupied meadow. There an open organization meeting for the day of the Re-occupation is going to take place: on Sunday, 13th April, at 12am.

You can participate as individuals or affinity groups in many different ways:
Spread the word, help with the organization, occupy the trees or support on the ground.
Your solidarity is stronger than all repression!

See you on April 26th!

radio program – the final straw

Radio

A close-to one hour interview about the Hambach Forestand the protest against brown coal/lignite in the Rhineland has been recorded and aired in the United States last Sunday. The interview gives basic informations about the protest as well as current stuff – for example the raid and the eviction of the forest occupation in late March.

The anarchist radio program “The Final Straw” from Asheville/North Carolina has quite a large recognition in the “scene” and covers local and international protests and movements every Sunday.

You can listen to the stuff there:

EVICTION in „progress“

The Hambach Forest Occupation is EVICTED right now!
This is where it is going to start!

Several hundred police arrived this morning, surrounding and shutting down the forest occupation from the eyes of anyone who would like to witness what is actually going on.

Infrastructure, Treehouses, trees, hedges, all getting torn apart piece by piece.
Everything is destroyed by loud, obnoxious machinery orchestrated by megalomaniacs, operated by ignorant people who in the end have nothing to claim for themselves but clinging on to their job.
People getting dragged away, getting brutalized, getting violated.

Police commitment on meadow and occupied forest!

Achtung PolizeiThis morning, 20th of march at 7am, 200 cops stormed the occupied meadow close to the occupied Hambach Forest to search for verifications for actions which reportedly happend during the last year. They took all the Laptops, Mobilephones, Memory cards, private documents (like passport, different kind of cards, letters,…). There were just 5 people on site, they checked their identitys. So rigth now there is no meadow- or forestphone you can call! Replacements will become active soon.

Police neglected to call a lawyer during the operation and as they imediately took all cell phones etc. there was no communication possible for hours. The first supporters recognized what was happening and came close to the ocupation at around 10 am.
At 12am they finnished the chaos.

During some of them were busy on the meadow, a big police unity went to the treehouses with chainsaws. They (again!) cutted all the robes which weren’t pulled up (which is a danger of life!) and left then.

As a reason for this police operation they refered on elucidation of punishable acts which were commited since april 2013 in the surrounding of the coal mine Hambach which is absurd. As well you could search all houses of a city district refering on all criminal acts of the whole city during one year. It is not about eluciadation of punishable acts. It is about harassment of people who afford courage and time for legitimate protest against the destruction of climate and earth.

There’re still very less people over there!

„Build Resistance“ Skill-Sharing Camp

Build Resistance

english deutsch espanol

This April there will be a skill sharing for two weeks on the occupation of the Hambacher Forst/ Hambach Forest. We want to let grow a big diversity of different theoretical and practical workshops, discussions, presentations, actions and so on. Everybody is invited to participate, to bring in own ideas, to share some skills, to offer workshops, to present something or to express her_his displeasure about the destruction of nature and oppression in creative way.

The camp has a emancipatory demand. It shall give us the possibility to share experiences, to connect, to learn together and also from each other and hopefully to come a step closer to a world without dominance: A world in which we take the responsibility for ourselves and our behavior and actions, in which we don’t take orders nobody and in which we can’t command nobody neither, a world in which we live together without any kind of discrimination, in free agreements and mutual aid, trying to self-organize and self-subsist ourselves.

There are already some workshops planned, such as: insulation of walls with adobe, knitting masks, collect wild-growing herbage and different forms of action, for example: samba, action climbing, building tripods, …

If possible please take with you a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad and wind- and rain-proofed clothes because we have only a limited number of sleeping places. Also it would be nice, if you could contribute with some food (maybe go dumpster-diving some days before). But this is not a must!

See you in April!

Love, solidarity and anarchy!!!
